Michael Danks at 4Groundmedia is a 360° capture specialist creating live and recorded narrative content for training and development in education and business.
Currently, Michael is working with MakeReal on a virtual reality fundraiser for a University College in Cambridge.
Alan is a sound Artist who creates spatial and immersive audio art.
Andy is a developer and creative with a broad interest in immersive technology. His particular focus lies at the crossover between culture, education and the arts.

Michael Hammond and Lucy Nordberg from Built Environment Media are working on developing a new product which will provide intelligence for architects about new projects at the pre-planning stage.
Currently Built Environment Media are testing the first stage of their larger project “Autonomous Andy”. Implementing artificial intelligence to a manual process within their business.

Founder Simon Vaughan commissions work for their network of contemporary artists to nurture talent and support visual art practice.
Currently Simon is curating art to be exhibited at Glastonbury Festival as well as curating an exhibition at the V&A with the Big Issue academy.

Finetuned is Sound Expert Julian Weaver who focuses on interdisciplinary research and curated projects and provides consultative and technical services to artists, galleries, universities and elsewhere.
Currently Julian is working with EuroFusion to produce immersive, artistic and participatory components of Fusion Expo: a pan-European exhbition on the state of the art in Fusion Energy and project partner on Listening Across Disciplines; a four year AHRC research project aiming to observe and analyse listening, its processes and applications.

Ali Goode and Jonathan Barrowman from Gorilla in the Room use augmented and virtual reality to create purchase tests that simulate real world shopping environments and gather realistic data on possible purchase decisions.

Louise specialises in marketing for companies in the scientific, technical and big data sectors.
Currently Louise as part of her role at the University of Sussex is organising the content for a summer school for 100 Data Science PhD students.
Mill is a creative technologist with a background and skillset in theatre, escape rooms and immersive live gaming. Currently Mill is working on an immersive horror theatre piece featuring elements of VR and escape room style puzzles, based on the HP Lovecraft short story, ‘Under the Pyramids’ about Houdini getting trapped in an Ancient Egyptian tomb.

Currently Rachel is working with Maf’j Alvarez to optimize the design of the Quizzer and with Alex Peckham on navigating audiences through outdoor spaces using direction triggered filters in order to make experiences around ways our mental state affects what we see, activities that are part of a Developing Your Creative Practice grant from Arts Council England.
Phil is a designer with a human-centred approach to blending digital, human and physical spaces. He is interested in humanising technology across a range of sectors, to improve both services and experiences.
Currently Phil is working on projects in immersive tech across these areas, travel, transport, cultural spaces and wellbeing as topics of curiosity.
Piotr is a creative technologist and Director of company Munchingsquare. With a background in graphic design, Piotr can programme and also has a wealth of experience making physical builds for art installations.

Currently Maf’j is working on ’44 Questions – a murmuration’ an augmented reality art experience featuring a dynamic flock of paper planes over the west pier that uses live social media feeds in response to Brexit by teenagers and the adults that decide their futures.

Bruno Beloff from South Coast Science is here designing and manufacturing air pollution monitoring equipment. Their work includes electronics, data infrastructure and open source software.

Why We Create
Alexandra Stuart-Hutcheson is a Multidisciplinary Artist with a focus on Virtual Reality. As part of her MA in Digital Media Arts at Brighton University, Alexandra is currently working on an interactive installation, the ‘Sound of Colour’ – an illusionary synaesthesia experience as part of her exploration into the healing potential of colour and sound, in immersive technologies.

Gianluca is a lecturer in Informatics at Sussex University, a UKRI Fellow and one of the founders of Metasonics. He is at the Fusebox to study innovative ways of giving a shape to sound for creative applications.
