Virtual Reality Headsets
The Brighton Immersive Lab is equipped with a huge, growing range of hardware designed to make developing immersive content easier and provide creatives with the opportunity to experiment with new technologies.
We have a spectrum of different VR headsets available for residents to use including desktop headsets such as the HTC Vive Pro and Oculus Rift. These headsets offer the best fidelity currently available for virtual reality and the Immersive Lab can provide top of the range gaming PC’s and laptops to aid development for these devices.
Additionally we have a collection of Windows Mixed Reality headsets including devices from HP, Dell and Acer. These devices must also be connected to a PC to operate however they provide “Inside-out tracking” meaning no external sensors are required track the users movements.
The lab is also equipped with a number of the more recent standalone VR headsets which do not require a PC to operate. Such as the Oculus Go, Vive Focus and Lenovo Mirage Solo which have proven to be a huge step forward in the accessibility and affordability of VR setups for both consumers and businesses.
Lastly, to aid developers working for mobile platforms like Samsung GearVR and Google Daydream we provide both the headsets and the smartphones designed to support them.
