We'll also hear from senior producer and creative Bobby Brown to get the artists view on this new tech.Hosted by Chris T-TThe event is hosted and moderated by writer, broadcaster and musician C.J. Thorpe-Tracey. Chris writes on music, culture and technology for The Quietus, Dark Mountain, NME, The Morning Star and many others, including his own Border Crossing platform. Chris presents Slack City Social live discussion shows on Slack City Radio, hosts Folkhampton on Radio Reverb and runs audio production studio Lo Fi Arts. Chris spent 20 years in the music industry as an influential underground recording artist, under the name Chris T-T clocking up 10 critically lauded solo albums (SUNDAY TIMES, Top 5 Album of the Year twice; ‘One of the great underground artists of our time.’ — JON SNOW, Channel 4) and he also performed more than 2,300 live shows around the world.Joining us on the panel:Nats Spada, Co-founder & Creative Director of Platform BPlatform B is Brighton's not-for-profit next-gen radio station broadcasting online since 2016 and on 105.5 FM and DAB across the city since 2018. The station is directed by a new wave of DJs, producers and presenters who are re-imagining and diversifying the medium with music and youth programming from a studio based in The Green Door Store, a grassroots music venue underneath Brighton station. Broadcasts flow from here as well as from multiple venues, public spaces and events across the city.Responding to the lockdown, Platform B collaborated with the city’s tech community and created Brighton’s first Virtual Reality gig inside a virtual Green Door Store. The virtual event in March featured live music and spoken word performances from local breakthrough artists and was rooted in a photorealistic representation of the much loved and distinctive, gritty bar and club environment. Nats will be talking about her experience of organising and promoting this innovative gig, as well as the opportunities and challenges that this new format presents.Bobby Brown, Senior Producer, Platform BBobby Brown is an experienced creative working within artist development and management, creative direction, branding, digital marketing, label services and events. Since 2018 Bobby has focused his attention back to Brighton, managing singer/songwriter Karl Benjamin, local rap & production duo Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn, and working extensively with local communities and organisations.Donna Close, Brighton DomeA festivals specialist, Donna has developed festival programmes and cultural strategy across the UK, Europe and further afield. Donna is Digital Culture Associate at Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival leading on the 5G Festival.
